It is time Shoalhaven Council acted according to the Local Government Act and met the charter obligations to:
- lead community
- promote multiculturalism
- advance needs of children
- promote ecologically sustainable development, and
- have regard to the long term and cumulative effects of its decisions.
A unique opportunity arises with the September 2008 elections.
Get into the act, help make a fresh start!
WHY SHOALHAVEN 2020?
We have a Federal government committed to community consultation and social inclusion and if Barack Obama is elected, we will have an American president committed to community empowerment. CLICK HERE to read about this. We must join this process.

- encourage non-enrolled residents to enrol... because a good council can work for them
- encourage 17 year olds to enrol - they will be on the roll at election time if their birthday is on or before 4 August.
Nominations close Wednesday 13 August:
- encourage people committed to integrity and transparency and community capacity building to stand
- we need multiple groups of 4 candidates in each ward to share preferences and win at least two of four seats in each of three wards. The ward boundaries are here.
Registration of How-to-Vote material closes Monday 25 August:
- the incumbents have networks of candidates passing preferences to each other. This must be countered vigorously for effect.
Election day Saturday 13 September: You can vote before polling day if you will be away. you cannot vote on the day anywhere outside your own ward in the Shoalhaven.
